About this list

These entries say plainly that a newcomer to chess is welcome. Skakkens Hus in Sølvgade starts its course ladder at level one, with autumn courses beginning in late October and early November. Skak for sjov on Frederiksberg has lessons for children who are new to the game on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, with two free trial sessions, and the Skaksalon next door lists an adult beginners' course starting in January.

Among the clubs, Skakforeningen ØBRO splits its Monday training by experience, Caïssa Gladsaxe runs a basic group on Tuesday evenings, and Valby, Gentofte, Brøndby, Furesø and the junior section of Odysseus all welcome beginners. Amager Skakskole and Valby Skakklub's open junior tournament take young beginners too.
